How to decouple Drupal?

With RESTful web services in Drupal 8 core, Drupal can function as an API-first back end serving browser applications, native applications on mobile devices, in-store displays, even in-flight entertainment systems (Lufthansa is doing so in Drupal 8!), and much more. When building a new website or web application in 2016, you may ask yourself: how should I decouple Drupal? Do I build my website with Drupal's built-in templating layer or do I use a JavaScript framework? Do I need Node.js?

Google Cloud Vision API (Beta) Released

Google Cloud Vision API enables developers to understand the content of an image by encapsulating powerful machine learning models in an easy to use REST API.

It quickly classifies images into thousands of categories (e.g., "sailboat", "lion", "Eiffel Tower"), detects individual objects and faces within images, and finds and reads printed words contained within images.

Drupal 8.0.0 released!

Is Google AMP a threat for RWD?

On Oct 14, Google announced the rollout of Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), a new project that will have long-lasting consequences for content publishers and search marketers.

AMP allows content publishers to streamline content templates with an open-source framework named AMP HTML. 

It is meant to simplify cumbersome HTML, CSS and JavaScript elements, resulting in a stripped down page that only includes the most vital content (text, images, videos, and of course, site ads). 

A letter to the Magento Community

Mark Lavelle, Senior Vice President of Commerce Technologies, has recently sent a letter to the Magento Community regarding the SUPEE-5344 patch. The patch has been issued on February 9, 2015 to address a critical security risk related to a remote code execution vulnerability in the Magento platform.

DrupalCon: Los Angeles 2015

DrupalCon is the name given to global conferences where thousands of Drupal developers, system engineers, designers, project managers, functional analysts, documentation specialists, media, and business people gather to participate in learning sessions, talks, code sprints, and social events. Drupalcon conferences are held two to three times a year in different parts of the World and are organized under the auspices of the Drupal Association in conjunction with local Drupal resources to the particular conference.
